Turn Replies Into Followers: Why Web3 Brands Need Reply Guys
Let me teach you how to explain the value of offering this service: being a 'Reply Guy' is a true art form

GM friends 🫡
It has been a while since I wanted to continue my newsletter.
The truth is that a newsletter is a great source channel to establish authority within any industry where you want to be known as a thought figure.
Since I want to take my newsletter seriously, I have decided to mainly make it around business, personal development, and growth, and relate it as much as possible to the Web3 sector.
If you are reading this, yet you are not SUBSCRIBED, wtf are you doing? (joke, plz sub)
A reply guy builds genuine relationships by engaging daily with valuable content from the timeline.
It’s not just about talking; it’s about smartly using target audiences or big accounts for reach and smaller ones for mutual growth.
The aim should be more impressions, more followers, and building those deeper connections as discussed in ‘‘Ultimate Reply Guy Strategy (Pt. 1)’’.
Provide Value: drop insights, extra info, or even a different perspective.
User Humour: a relevant custom meme or a GIF can win people over.
Brand Your Emojis: pick about 5 that vibe with you and stick to them.
Note: there is so much more to this; I will eventually write a ‘‘Reply Guy Manual’’ e-book.
What is the value proposition of being a Reply Guy?

It’s one thing to be a reply guy, but how do you explain this strategy to a Web3 company looking to grow its presence?
Here is a method that I always share with my clients:
As a reply guy, using lists and replying to the “latest” content is key.
You ultimately don’t want to be replying to anything beyond the 2-4H timeframe.
Provide an insightful comment or a relatable meme; your goal is to spark an emotion, such as laughter, and make it as engaging as possible.
BONUS: Reply to major accounts within a minute or two to increase the odds of getting those +10K impressions.
Gain Impressions
Our goal is to amass as many impressions as possible with our replies.
That said, the client always has the lead on deciding how to allocate the percentages within the reply guy strategy.
Here is an example:
60% farming impressions
30% building relationships
10% brand establishment
Note: I would not suggest going beyond 10% for brand-relatable replies because it will ultimately harm maximum reach, as these replies are too niched down.
Receive Profile Visits
Once your reply catches people’s eyes, they will click through to your company profile.
This is your chance to impress them with a profile picture, banner, and bio.
Stop underestimating every aspect of your page as it matters much more than most interpret.
User Checks Content
After landing on the profile page, users immediately evaluate your content…
Is the account active? Valuable? Unique? Does it speak to them?
Their decision hinges on whether they can learn from or connect with your overall message and mission.
Decides To Press Follow
That is the entire process in a nutshell.
The above steps represent the user journey, and they decide whether to press that follow button or not.
The company needs to understand that this flywheel only works if the social media manager, product team, and overall brand execution are done well—but it all starts with that spark in the replies.
Quick Video Recap:
This is your step-by-step guide to the value proposition of being a Reply Guy:
Final Words
It’s extremely important for anyone in Web3, as a company, to hire a reply guy.
This is true because, for example, I have a client whose posts generate ~300 impressions per post, meaning if they do two posts a day, they generate ~4,200 impressions per week.
Meanwhile, my KPIs are set to a minimum of 30,000+ impressions per week (Mon to Fri) with 50 replies per day, which are achieved at a rate of 100%.
Need more proof for valuing a Reply Guy?
Here is the legendary Leon Abboud making a statement on this topic (literally send it to your clients for validation of this service):
Paying $3k/m for a good intern to work on your brand account is a no brainer investment.
One good reply can land you 300k organic impressions.
Just from that one reply, you’re at a CPM (Cost per 1k impressions) of $100.
Which is cheaper than influencer marketing’s CPM… x.com/i/web/status/1…

Imagine being a horse riding to a set destination at high intensity with no breaks, food, or proper rest…
The horse will collapse, and the same applies to humans!
